In
2018, a landmark decision of the Queensland Supreme Court granted
Alyssa Creswell the right to her deceased boyfriend’s
sperm so that she might conceive his child. This publicised case has
brought to light many legal and ethical issues surrounding the issue of
the posthumous retrieval of sperm for the purpose of reproduction. Join
us for an evening to discuss the legal and ethical
questions that emerge from this case, over some food and beverages, with
guest facilitator Dr Malcom Smith, Associate Professor in Law and
Ethics at the School of Medicine, Griffith University.
